New TASCC Codes issued ready for harvest 2014

6 February 2014

The Agricultural Industries Association (AIC) has issued the new Codes of Practice for its Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASCC). The scheme is effective from the 1st February 2014 and will remain in place for two years. This action is being taken to allow TASCC participants plenty of time to implement the codes before the start this year’s harvest period.

TASCC is the leading trade assurance scheme for combinable crops in the UK and covers the supply chain from farm gate to primary processor - encompassing grain storage, haulage, merchanting and testing. TASCC is the only UK assurance scheme of its type to have mutual recognition status with all sectors of the grain trade both nationally and internationally.
The new codes can be viewed on the AIC website at . As well as the codes on the website, there is a summary of changes document and several template documents for hauliers, storekeepers and trailer hire companies.

The TASCC Working Group has worked hard over the last 18 months in liaison with stakeholders to ensure that the codes reflect the latest legislative, industry and customer practice and that TASCC businesses meet these requirements. The codes are also instrumental in helping businesses manage feed safety incidents by ensuring that the necessary due diligence is carried out.

Another benefit to TASCC participants is the “Assurance Alert” email system which helps TASCC participants, as well as their customers and suppliers, keep up to date with any changes to the status of a participant i.e. certified or suspended. There is no extra cost for this service and TASCC is the only combinable crops scheme for the supply industry that offers it.
